We did it! We transformed our laundry room from awful to this BRIGHT modern chic farmhouse laundry room. Want to learn how to makeover your laundry room on a budget? Keep reading
When I say we, I mean my vision and my fiancรฉ doing all the hard work. Well I helped with the accent wall and of course the designing .
Due to our washer stopped working, we had to replace it and we decided to replace both the washer and dryer. We decided to go with the Samsung Top Load set in black. Thatโs when I got the bright idea to give the laundry room a makeover.

Before the Makeover
Previously, our laundry room was just the typical home builder basics. It was gloomy and filled with shoes, sweaty gym clothes and cleaning supplies. As a result, I would keep the door closed when we had guests over. Now Iโm doing laundry every day just to admire the space we created.
Initially, we were going to use leftover hardwood planks when we had our living room floors redone. However, the planks were too heavy. So we decided to go with the textured wood wallpaper we found at Lowe’s. We also decided to replace the valance lighting that I hated.
Below are all the details of what we used to complete this budget friendly DIY renovation.

Materials we used
Here is what we used:
Dryer: Samsung Steam Dryer-Black
Washer: Samsung Top Load
Light Fixture: Matte Black Farmhouse Fixture
Accent Wall: Scott Living – Textured Wood Peel and Stick Wallpaper
Walls: Sherwin Williams – Repose Gray
Shelves: Gray Twill Shelving unit w/ Decorative Black Arch Hardware
All decor pictured came from my local At-Home store for less than $80. Every item was on clearance.

Laundry used to make me a basket case (pun intended) but now Iโm excited about doing laundry. Do you enjoy doing laundry? Could your laundry room use an affordable makeover? Please comment and let me know.
I hope you enjoyed this makeover as much as we did.
