Stylish Vacay Outfits I Wore in Costa Rica

    Stylish Costa Rica Vacay Outfits

Whewww! Let me tell you, Costa Rica did not come to play, and neither did I when it came to these Costa Rica vacay outfits! After sharing my birthday trip recap in my Best Wellness Resort in Costa Rica blog post, I have to share what I wore?” You know your girl had to bring that LoveLeeToya style even while hiking and sipping smoothies poolside.

Here’s a breakdown of everything I wore for my week in paradise, from slow mornings at the spa to scenic hikes and luxe dinners under the stars. Keep scrolling for feminine, comfortable, and effortlessly elevated vacation looks.

    ✨Sightseeing Chic Outfits

Costa Rica is full of hidden gems, so comfy yet cute was the name of the game. For exploring local towns and grabbing fresh fruit at the market, I wore a lightweight linen dress in terracotta. It was breezy, breathable, and timeless. Paired it with raffia sandals and my straw hat (yes, the one I always bring on vacay).

Pro tip: Neutral colors are your best friend while traveling. They mix and match like a dream and always look put together.

    ☀️Poolside Day

You already know the poolside content was givinggg! I wore a Kelly-green two-piece swimsuit with gold ring details that hugged all the right places. I threw on black sheer cover-up pants, a printed head scarf and some oversized sunnies for that luxe, feminine touch.

    🧖🏽‍♀️Spa Day

For my spa day, I stayed comfy in a soft crochet fringe dress in bright white. It gave “rich auntie on a wellness retreat” and that’s exactly the vibe I was going for.

    🌴Beach Babe Energy

I’m a beach girl through and through, so I had to bring options. My fave was a bright orange monokini paired with a matching pants. I added a matching scarf for an effortlessly elevated beach look.

Also brought a cream maxi dress to throw on after the waves for a seaside lunch. The open-back detail? Chef’s kiss.

    🧘🏾‍♀️Yoga Flows

Early morning yoga with the jungle soundtrack in the background was a spiritual experience. I wore lots of activewear sets, and my favorite was these skirt-looking activewear shorts in a sage green shade paired with a white built-in bra tank. It’s soft, supportive, and doesn’t roll down mid-sun salutation.

    🥾Hiking with Style

We hiked to the world famous Haceinda La Chimba and yes, it was giving Tomb Raider, but make it cute. I wore a grey biker short set while hiking, a white baseball cap, and an oversized button-up tied at the waist. My hiking boots were sturdy and cute (praise report).

Once we made it to the top, I changed into a lovely tiered maxi dress, slicked my hair back, threw on a straw hat, tinted SPF, and felt both strong and stylish.

Pro tip: Take a foldable backpack with a change of clothes so you can take photos along the trail.

    🍽️Dinner & Golden Hour

Dinner time = glam time. One of my favorite outfits was a red balloon skirt and a white button-front vest. I paired it with strappy heels, gold teardrop earrings, and my Coach Pillow Tabby. The look was bright and vibrant, and it looked beautiful when photographed during dinner. The guests at the resort were like, “You look so lovely!” and they were right.

Another night, I wore a floral wrap dress that gave “soft and sophisticated,” perfect for a quiet dinner by the fire pit.

    💆🏾‍♀️Spa Treatments & Self-Care

For massages and slow mornings, sipping tea on my balcony, I kept it cozy but cute. Think matching loungewear, workout sets, and a silk headwrap. The resort provided us with 100% organic cotton plush robes, which provided a feeling of extra self-care.

Finally, if there’s one thing I’ve learned from traveling, it’s that you don’t have to sacrifice style for comfort. Everything I packed for Costa Rica was aligned with my CALM life (Confident, Aligned, Luxurious, and Mindful). Shop all my looks HERE.

Best Wellness Resort Retreat Costa Rica

During a week-long wellness trip to Costa Rica for my birthday, I had the pleasure of staying at The Retreat Costa Rica. The Retreat Costa Rica is a luxury boutique wellness resort nestled in the lush mountains of Atenas. It is the peaceful sanctuary you didn’t know your soul needed. From holistic healing rituals to farm-to-table dining and stunning views of the Pacific coastline, this wellness destination is perfect for those craving a reset for their mind, body, and spirit. Keep reading to see why you need to add The Retreat Costa Rica to your wellness travel list.

    WARM WELCOME & INTENTIONAL SERVICE

From the moment we arrived at The Retreat, everything felt intentional. The herbal welcome drink and the heartfelt smiles that greeted us at check-in. It wasn’t just service; it was soul care. We were given a peaceful tour of the serene property before settling into our elegant, minimalist suite that overlooked the mountains. Every staff member was genuinely invested in our wellness journey. Whether it was a spa treatment, an emotional healing session, or plant-based meals, they remembered the smallest details and treated us with care. We also received a free water bottle and tote bag in our suite upon arrival.

TRANQUIL COSTA RICA MOUNTAIN VIEWS & NATURE IMMERSION

Unlike other wellness resorts, The Retreat offers mountaintop magic. Located 45 minutes outside of San José, the views from the infinity pool, yoga deck, and even the bathtub are simply breathtaking. Morning walks through the botanical gardens, with sunrise meditations overlooking the rainforest and waterfalls below. At The Retreat Costa Rica, the sound of birdsong is your daily soundtrack. The rainforest sound is nature therapy at its finest.

    HOLISTIC WELLNESS RESORT EXPERIENCES

Wellness at The Retreat is not just physical. It’s emotional, spiritual, and energetic. We experienced a variety of healing activities, including sound healing, hiking, breathwork, yoga, meditation, sauna, and a crystal-infused saltwater pool. There’s even a full healing center with integrative medicine practitioners on-site. My favorite moment? A slow, restorative yoga session at sunset, followed by a deep tissue heart-opening massage. As a result, I left feeling lighter physically and emotionally.

    INTIMATE AMENITIES DESIGNED FOR HEALING

The property is intentionally small, which means fewer crowds and more serenity. The Retreat features an open-air fitness studio, an apothecary kitchen where you can take cooking classes, a healing spa with ayurvedic therapies, and a stunning infinity pool with views that stretch to the ocean. There are cozy nooks for journaling, reading, or simply breathing in peace. Everything is designed to help you slow down and restore balance.

    GOURMET PLANT-BASED DINING

OMG!!! Dining at The Retreat is an experience on its own. The on-site restaurant, Sol Terrace: Nature’s Gastronomy, offers fresh, organic, anti-inflammatory farm-to-table meals sourced directly from the garden and local farms. Each dish was not only nourishing but beautifully plated. As a frequent plant-based eater, I felt seen and celebrated. Every meal was colorful, flavorful, and filling. And yes, they offer fresh coffee that is grown on the farm, herbal teas, and fresh-pressed juices daily. A foodie’s wellness dream! There was not one meal that did not excite my taste buds. My favorite surprise was the gluten free, sugar free, dairy free treat they placed on our pillows at night during turn down service.

In short, if you’re dreaming of a reset rooted in healing, nature, and luxury, The Retreat Costa Rica will absolutely exceed your expectations. If you’ve been or plan to go, tag me in your photos and let me know which wellness ritual was your favorite. For more travel guides and style inspiration, check out my other Travel posts here. Whether you go by speedboat or longtail (we took a speedboat), this tour will have your heart racing with every wave. Tip: Take plenty of Dramamine before you take the tour to prevent motion sickness.

    2. Rev It Up with an ATV Jungle Tour

Take your trip off the beaten path (literally) with an ATV adventure through Phuket’s lush jungle trails. Expect muddy fun, stunning views, and all the thrill your heart can handle. Don’t forget your sunglasses and a bandana—you’re gonna need ‘em. We also hopped on a huge swing and swung over the jungle of Phuket. Talk about a THRILL! Tip: Wear sunscreen and bug spray because the mosquitos are relentless.

    3. Eat, Sip & Play at Yona Beach Club

Imagine sipping fresh coconut water on a floating beach club in the middle of the Andaman Sea! Yes, it’s as awesome as it sounds. Yona Beach Club is where luxury meets beach club. Picture tropical drinks, stunning views, and luxury lounging. Book your cabana in advance, babe. Tip: The music was the same rave type music all day long so do not expect Drake or current hits.

    4. Get Lost in the Beauty of Ma Doo Bua Cafe

This hidden gem feels like walking through a real-life fairytale. Ma Doo Bua Cafe is known for its massive lotus leaves floating in the lagoon water. Some lily pads are massive. Grab a refreshing drink, strike a pose, and soak in the peaceful beauty. Tip: Go early so you aren’t out snapping photos in the heat of the day.

    5. Unleash Your Wild Side at Tiger Park

Ready for a once-in-a-lifetime moment? At Tiger Park, you can get up close and personal with real tigers. It’s safe, guided, and totally surreal. You’ll want to prepare for all the feelings—excitement, awe, and maybe a little adrenaline rush.

    6. Dine Like Royalty at Black Ginger Restaurant

This isn’t just dinner! It’s an experience. Black Ginger sits on its own floating pavilion in a gorgeous lagoon. You literally arrive by a hand-pulled raft. The ambiance is rich with Thai elegance and the flavors are just chef’s kiss. Be sure to dress the part, because this spot is a major photo op.

    7. Dine in the Trees at Three Monkeys Restaurant

Three Monkeys Restaurant is a whole mood. Nestled in the jungle with dreamy views, this treehouse-style restaurant blends luxury with nature. From delicious Thai dishes to creative cocktails, it’s the perfect spot for a romantic dinner or chill lunch out with the crew. Tip: Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance or you will be waiting for a table.

    8. Feel the Heat at a Muay Thai Boxing Match

You haven’t really experienced Thailand until you’ve seen a live Muay Thai fight. The energy is electric, the crowd is hyped, and the tradition runs deep. It’s a cultural must-see event and honestly, you’ll leave feeling a little more powerful yourself.

    9. Stroll, Shop, & Snack at Old Towne Market

Colorful colonial buildings, charming cafés, street art, and local vendors make Old Towne Market a vibe. Grab some fresh mango sticky rice, shop handmade goods, and snap pics in front of the Insta-famous pastel walls. It’s the perfect mix of culture and chill.

    10. Shine Bright at the Gem Gallery

Thailand is known for its dazzling gems, and the Gem Gallery in Phuket is the sparkle queen. Whether you’re just browsing or treating yourself (hello, travel keepsake!), you’ll love learning about the gem-cutting process and maybe even walking away with a lil’ bling. I snagged a set of fresh water pearls for my mom.

BONUS: Find Your Peace at Phuket’s Iconic Temples

Need a quiet moment to reflect or just love the beauty of sacred spaces? Visiting the temples in Phuket is a must. From the grand Big Buddha (we could only view it from behind because the walkway was being repaired) towering on Nakkerd Hill to the intricate architecture of Wat Chalong, these spots offer a peaceful break from the adventure. Wear modest clothing, slip off your shoes, and take in the serene energy. It’s the perfect way to connect with Thailand’s spiritual roots and get a few stunning pics while you’re at it.
